Mexican Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 can cream-style corn
1 c. corn meal
1 1/3 c. melted shortening
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 (4 oz.) can green chiles, drained and chopped
1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Combine the first 6 ingredients; mix well.
Pour half the batter into a greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Sprinkle with chiles and half the cheese.
Pour on remaining batter.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes before cutting into serving pieces.
