Biscuits For Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. milk
    1/3 c. shortening
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients in bowl. Cut in shortening until like coarse crumbs. Make a well. Add milk all at once. Stir quickly with fork just until dough follows fork around bowl. Turn onto lightly floured surface. Knead gently for 10 to 12 strokes. Roll or pat dough until 1/2-inch thick. Dip 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter in flour; cut dough straight down. Bake at 450\u00b0 on ungreased baking sheet for 12 minutes. Makes 10. Top with strawberries.
