Cuban Picadillo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground lean beef
    2 Tbsp. lard or oil
    2 medium onions, chopped
    3 garlic cloves, minced or mashed
    1 large green pepper, chopped
    2 large tomatoes, chopped or 1 small can tomato puree or 1/4 c. tomato catsup
    1 bay leaf, broken in little pieces
    1/3 c. white wine or sherry
    1/2 c. raisins
    1/3 c. stuffed olives, sliced, capers or mixed olives and capers
    vinegar
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Fry onions and garlic in fat until soft.
    Add tomatoes and bay leaf and allow to simmer a little.
    Throw in meat and fry until brown, stirring frequently.
    Add remaining ingredients, stir-frying all the time.
