Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 c. jam (seedless blackberry)
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. black walnuts
Preparation

Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg together. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, then jam.
Mix together dry ingredients and add to batter alternately with buttermilk.
Dust nuts with flour and stir in.
Pour into three 8-inch greased and floured (bottom only) cake tins.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
