Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. ground cloves
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. raisins
    1 Tbsp. soda, dissolved in applesauce
    3 Tbsp. chopped walnuts
    2 c. applesauce
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Set aside.
    Add salt and spices to sifted flour, reserving 4 tablespoons for dredging of raisins and nuts. Add flour mixture alternately with applesauce to the creamed shortening and sugar mixture.
    Dredge nut meats and raisins with 4 tablespoons of flour.
    Hand stir into cake batter. Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0. When cake tester is clean, remove.
    Let rest 10 to 15 minutes. Turn out on rack to cool.
    When cool, wrap in tinfoil to keep moist.
