Fluffy Uncooked Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 unbeaten egg white
    1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Mix sugar, egg white and cream of tartar, then add boiling water.
    Beat with electric mixer at highest speed until stiff (about 5 minutes).
    This will hold shape and will not become crusty.
    It can be stored in refrigerator.
    Also good on puddings, pies and short cakes.
    Enough for 2 (8 or 9-inch) layers.
