Hickory Or Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. fine white sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    3 eggs
    2/3 c. milk
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. powdered mace
    1 c. hickory nuts or walnuts
Preparation
    Fill the cake pan with a layer of the cake, then a layer of raisins upon that, then scatter nuts until the pan is 2/3 full. Line the tins with well-buttered paper and bake in a steady, but not quick oven.
    This is most excellent.
