New England Sponge Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. water
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Separate the eggs and beat yolks until thick.
Add sugar gradually and beat thoroughly.
Add lemon juice and water.
Add salt to flour and combine mixtures.
Mix smooth and add beaten egg whites.
Pour into greased tubular pan.
Bake 1 hour in oven at 300\u00b0; increase heat to 325\u00b0 after first fifteen minutes.
Take from oven; invert pan and let cool.
Remove from pan.
Dust with confectioners sugar or sweetened whipped cream.
