Chocolate Mound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    1 bar German chocolate
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 c. boiling water
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. soda
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
    Melt chocolate in boiling water; add to creamed mixture.
    Dissolve soda in 1/4 cup milk.
    Alternately add flour and milk to first mixture.
    Add vanilla and salt.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Makes 6 layers.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
    Make two kinds of frosting.
