Potatoes Savoyarde - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. butter, cut in pieces
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
    1 1/2 c. shredded cheese (Gruyere or Swiss)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 1/2 lb. sliced unpeeled potatoes
    1 1/2 c. chicken or beef stock
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Butter a 2-quart baking dish or souffle dish.
    In a bowl mix together garlic, parsley, cheese and pepper. Layer 1/3 of potatoes, then 1/3 of garlic mixture.
    Dot with 1 tablespoon butter; cut in pieces.
    Repeat layers; top with potatoes.
    Pour stock over potatoes and put on the last 1/3 of garlic mixture.
    Dot with butter.
    Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
    Uncover and bake 30 to 40 minutes more, until brown and potatoes are tender.
