Apple-Blueberry Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1/2 c. applesauce
    1 c. blueberries
Preparation
    Sift together all dry ingredients.
    Cream shortening and sugar; beat in egg.
    Add milk alternately with flour mixture. Stir in applesauce.
    Mix the blueberries with some of the flour. I use fresh blueberries that I freeze.
    I mix them in frozen so the dough does not turn blue, then lightly mix in with the other ingredients.
    Fill muffin tins 1/2 full.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for about 20 minutes.
    Makes about a dozen or more.
