Molasses Batter Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
4 eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Mix
shortening,
sugar,
molasses
and
eggs, then add remaining
ingredients
(add buttermilk and baking soda last). Bake
in 3 nine-inch or 4 eight-inch baking pans at 350\u00b0.
Use applesauce or dried apples as filling.
