Green Bean Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. frozen French-cut green beans
    1/2 stick butter
    1 tsp. onion, chopped
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 lb. sharp American cheese
    1 c. half and half
    1 small can mushroom pieces
    1 can water chestnuts
    1 pkg. almonds, slivered
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook green beans until limp.
    Place in buttered flat casserole.
    Next, melt butter in skillet; add onion and simmer until transparent.
    Add flour; mix together and set to cool.
    In top of double boiler, melt cheese in half and half.
    Add mushroom pieces and drained chopped water chestnuts.
    Add the butter onion mixtures; pour over green beans.
    Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with almonds.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 35 minutes.
