Pennsylvania Dutch Pepper Cabbage(Instead Of Coleslaw) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage, shredded
    1 or 2 yellow or green bell peppers, diced
    2 or 3 stalks celery, diced
    1 carrot, grated
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar or apple cider
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine cabbage, peppers, celery and carrot in medium bowl. Cook sugar, vinegar, water and salt for a few minutes or until it begins to boil.
    Pour over cabbage mixture and allow to set for 1 hour.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Serve chilled.
    It will keep for two weeks.
