Lemon Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 lb. margarine
    1 lb. white raisins
    1 qt. chopped pecans
    3 c. plain flour
    6 eggs
    1 tsp. soda in 3 Tbsp. water
    2 oz. lemon extract
Preparation
    Sift flour.
    Mix raisins, nuts and flour.
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add beaten egg yolks.
    Add soda and water.
    Add raisins, nuts and flour.
    Add lemon extract.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Cook 2 3/4 hours at 250\u00b0.
    Put pan of water under cake when cooking and aluminum foil on top.
    Bake in a greased tube pan.
