May'S Syrup "T" Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. dark syrup*
    1 egg
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cloves
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. soda
    pinch of salt
    4 c. plain flour (or more)
Preparation
    Mix. Roll out on floured surface as thin as desired.
    Cut out with cookie cutter.
    Bake on greased baking sheet at 400\u00b0.
