Chocolate Pie Imperial - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 pt. (1 c.) dairy sour cream
    1 (9-inch) pastry shell
    whipped cream topping or garnish (if desired)
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan.
    Stir in milk. Cook over hot heat, stirring constantly, until thick.
    Remove from heat.
    Gradually stir at least half of hot mixture into eggs. Then blend into hot mixture in saucepan.
    Cook 1 minute.
    Remove from heat.
    Add chocolate pieces and stir until melted.
    Stir in flavorings.
    Cook to lukewarm, stirring occasionally.
    Blend sour cream into chocolate mixture.
