Pecan Spread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. softened cream cheese
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1 (2 1/2 oz.) pkg. dried beef
    1/4 tsp. pepper (white)
    1/2 c. sour cream
    2 Tbsp. chopped green onions (scallions)
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    2 Tbsp. butter
    Melba toast
Preparation
    Drop dried beef into a small pan of boiling water; remove from stove and drain well in a strainer.
    Run it under cold water and chop finely (this removes excess salt from beef).
    Mix cream cheese, milk, pepper, onions and garlic powder together and blend well.
    Add 1/2 cup sour cream and mix.
    Toast pecans with butter. Pour cream mixture into a small baking dish; sprinkle pecans on top and bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Serve with Melba toast.
