Grandma'S Refrigerator Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. warm water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 pkg. yeast
    1 egg
    1/2 Tbsp. salt
    6 c. flour (or enough to make dough stiff and smooth, not sticky)
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in about 1/4 cup lukewarm water and 1 teaspoon sugar.
    Let stand about 5 or 10 minutes until puffy.
    Then add to warm water.
    Melt shortening and add it and sugar to water and then beaten egg.
    Add about 3 cups flour and beat hard until smooth.
    Add rest of flour and mix through thoroughly.
    Turn out and knead well until satiny smooth.
    Put in bowl and grease top. Let rise until double, then store in refrigerator until ready to bake.
    Shape as desired.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes. Grease tops after taking from oven.
