Anniversary Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 (6 oz.) can orange juice
    1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade
    1 (6 oz.) can frozen limeade
    1 (6 oz.) can frozen pineapple juice
    1 jar maraschino cherries
    1 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Dissolve sugar in water.
    Boil for 5 minutes.
    Cool.
    Dilute frozen juices as directed on cans.
    Blend juices and cherries. Stir in sugar syrup; chill.
    Add ginger ale before serving.
