Caramel Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Combine in bowl the cake mix, melted margarine and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
    Press 1/2 of cake mixture on bottom of 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips on top. Pour melted caramel mixture on top of chips and mix slightly. Add a small amount of water or milk to remaining cake mixture (until it is spreadable). Spread it evenly on top of caramel mixture.
    Bake 15 to 18 minutes. Remove from oven. Let cool and cut into bars at this point. Put in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Store at room temperature.
