Cabbage Soup(Lite Choice) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. water
    4 c. cabbage, grated
    3 c. potatoes (unpeeled), diced
    2 c. carrots, chopped
    1 c. onion, chopped
    1 tsp. fresh thyme or 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. 1% low-fat milk
    1 (18 oz.) can tomato sauce
Preparation
    In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, bring water to a boil.
    Add cabbage and potatoes, carrots, onion, celery, thyme, bay leaf, salt and pepper.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
    Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
    Add milk and tomato sauce.
    Heat over low heat to serving temperature. Remove and discard bay leaf.
    Serves 8.
