Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large or 8 small apples
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. Puritan oil
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. mace or cloves
    1 c. nuts (black walnuts)
Preparation
    Peel apples and cut into small pieces.
    Pour on sugar.
    Let stand for 10 minutes.
    Add oil.
    Beat and add eggs and mix.
    Sift dry ingredients all together, including nuts.
    Fold into apple mixture.
    Cook in greased and floured tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
