Knobby Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. chopped nuts
3 c. chopped apples
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream or melt shortening.
Add sugar and egg.
Mix flour and spices.
Add to creamed mixture, apples, nuts and vanilla.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
Use layer cake pans 1 1/2 to 2 inches deep.
