Stove Top Pot Roast - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. roast
1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
2 small onions
Preparation

Melt shortening in heavy pot large enough to hold roast (with cover).
When shortening is hot, place roast (which is rubbed with all the seasoning) into pot.
Brown roast on all sides.
Turn to low heat.
Cover and simmer 3 1/2 hours.
Add onions (sliced or chopped) to roast one hour before it is done.
