Angel Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
    1 1/2 c. egg whites (12)
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Set out, but do not grease, a 10 x 4-inch tube pan.
    Measure and sift together the flour and confectioners sugar 3 times. Measure into a large mixing bowl the egg whites, cream of tartar and salt; beat until foamy.
    Gradually add 2 tablespoons of sugar at a time, beating well.
    Continue beating until meringue holds a stiff peak.
    Fold in vanilla.
    Fold in gradually the mixture of flour and sugar.
    Pour into ungreased tube pan.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 375\u00b0.
