Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 to 2 lb. ground beef
    1 3/4 c. canned tomatoes
    2 c. canned kidney beans
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 bay leaf
    1 tsp. sugar
    chili powder to taste
Preparation
    Saute the onion in the butter.
    Add ground beef and cook until well done.
    Add 1 3/4 cups canned tomatoes and some water.
    Add the beans, salt, bay leaf, sugar and chili powder.
    Cover and cook slowly for about 1 hour.
    Serve with tortillas or crackers.
