Jumbo Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 t. baking powder
    1 t. baking soda
    2 t. salt
    1 1/2 t. cinnamon
    1/4 t. nutmeg
    1/4 t. allspice
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 t. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    First do: 2 c. raisins with 1 c. water. Boil 5 minutes or until liquid is decreased to 1/2 c. and cool. Then cream shortening. Add sugar and blend well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla, nuts and cooled raisins. Mix. Add dry ingredients and blend well. Drop by teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 400 degrees 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.
