Boiled Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    3 c. water
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    dash of cloves
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cook the raisins and water until 1 cup liquid remains.
    Cool. Add the baking soda to the 1 cup liquid.
    Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat.
    Add flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves alternately with raisin liquid.
    Add raisins and nuts.
    Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan or 2 layer cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
