Wilted Cabbage Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage, shredded
    1 small onion, thinly sliced
    2/3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. oil
    1 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Layer cabbage and onion in bowl.
    Pour 2/3 cup sugar over and do not mix.
    Combine oil, vinegar, salt, mustard, celery seed and 1 teaspoon sugar in saucepan.
    Let come to a boil.
    Pour hot dressing over cabbage, onions and sugar; do not mix.
    Let stand in refrigerator for at least 3 hours or overnight.
    Mix before serving.
