Jo'S Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal mix
    1 egg
    1/2 c. minced onion
    2/3 c. cream-style corn
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    buttermilk
Preparation
    In a medium bowl, add cornmeal mix, egg, onion, corn, salt and sugar.
    Add buttermilk until mixture is thickened.
    Let sit for 5 minutes and stir again.
    Mixture should hold together when formed into balls or shaped into \"hush puppies\" with 2 teaspoons. Drop into hot grease.
    Hush puppies will float.
    Turn when browned on underside.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Serve hot.
