Hamburger Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 lb. hamburger
    1 egg
    1 3/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
    1/3 c. milk
    flour (to dredge meat)
    2 Tbsp. fat
    1/2 c. water
    6 carrots
    6 potatoes
Preparation
    Mix meat, eggs, 1 1/4 teaspoons salt, pepper, bread crumbs and milk.
    Shape into a flat loaf.
    Dredge with flour; brown on both sides in hot fat in a heavy skillet with a cover.
    Add water and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt.
    Cover; simmer for 15 minutes, then add carrots and potatoes.
    Cook 1/2 hour longer, or until carrots and potatoes are tender.
