Rainbow Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 c. butter, room temperature
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 drops red food coloring
    1/4 c. candied red cherries, finely chopped
    4 drops green food coloring
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/4 c. pistachios, finely chopped
    1/4 c. coconut
Preparation
    Line 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with wax paper.
    Beat butter and sugar.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Stir in flour, salt and powder until well blended.
    Divide into thirds.
    Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
