Claudia Grice'S Crock-Pot Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. cooked apples
    4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    Put cooked apples, sugar and vinegar in slow cooker.
    Cover and cook 12 hours on low.
    Puree mixture at this stage if lumps are undesired.
    Return to cooker.
    Add spices and cook 3 hours more on high without lid or until desired consistency is reached. May be frozen or put in sterilized jars and processed in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
    Golden Delicious apples are especially good for this recipe.
    Yields 3 pints.
