Chicken And Okra Gumbo (Soup) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) chicken, cut up
    2 qt. water
    1/4 c. oil or bacon drippings
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    3 garlic cloves, minced
    1 to 2 tsp. hot pepper sauce (optional)
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, drained
    2 c. sliced fresh or frozen okra (1-inch pieces)
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1 tsp. salt or 1 to 2 chicken bouillon cubes
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook chicken in water for 30 to 45 minutes, until tender. Remove chicken from broth; bone and cube.
