Scripture Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. molasses
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda and salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/3 tsp. ginger
3 beaten eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/3 c. honey
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped dried figs
1/2 c. chopped almonds
1/2 c. wine or orange juice
Preparation

Turn cake batter into greased and floured 9-inch loaf pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 minutes; cover with foil and bake 50 minutes longer.
Allow cake to cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Brush cake with wine or orange juice.
Wrap in foil and store in refrigerator.
