Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    4 eggs, hard-cooked and sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1 medium sweet onion, diced
    1 lb. bacon, fried and diced
    2 c. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into bite size pieces.
    Layer rest of vegetables in order given.
    Mix sugar with mayonnaise and spread over top like frosting.
    Top with grated cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours.
