Stuffed Green Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    7 or 8 oz. pkg. macaroni
    3 Tbsp. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. butter
    No. 2 can tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    4 green peppers
    2 oz. sharp cheese, grated
Preparation
    Cook macaroni until tender; drain. In large skillet, brown hamburger. Saute onions in butter until soft and yellow. Add tomatoes and simmer gently about 5 minutes.
    Add macaroni and salt; mix well. Continue simmering about 10 minutes longer. Wash and remove seeds and membranes from peppers.
    Boil 6 minutes in hot water with 1 teaspoon salt. Drain and arrange in buttered casserole. Fill casserole with macaroni and tomato mixture; sprinkle cheese on top. Bake in moderately hot oven (400\u00b0) 15 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
