Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sticks oleo
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 c. flour
1 lb. chopped dates
1 lb. chopped orange jelly candy
2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar well.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Add 1 cup buttermilk alternately with 3 cups flour.
Add soda to other 1/2 cup buttermilk.
Add to mixture. Dredge fruit and nuts and orange slices in 1 cup flour.
Combine remaining dry ingredients.
Add dates and nuts; blend.
Bake at 275\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours.
Makes 2 loaf pans.
