Ding Bats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 egg
    2 c. Rice Krispies
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    coconut
Preparation
    Mix the butter, sugar, dates and egg; cook and stir constantly until dates are softened.
    Let cool, then add Rice Krispies, nuts and vanilla.
    Shape into balls.
    Roll in coconut, then chill.
