Onion Celeste - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 large Bermuda onions, sliced and separated
    1/2 lb. Parmesan cheese, grated (not in the can)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Cook onions in butter (covered, cook slowly 30 minutes). Spoon in baking dish.
    Spread grated cheese over onions; add pepper.
    Heat soup and milk in same skillet, stirring until smooth.
    Pour over onions.
    Stir lightly.
    Overlap French bread slices in ring on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes or until bread is toasted and sauce is bubbly hot.
    Serves 4.
