Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar (if desired)
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening or oil
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add eggs, milk and shortening.
    Beat until smooth.
    Do not overbeat.
    Pour into greased 8-inch round or square pan or cornbread skillet.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Yields 4 to 6 servings.
