Everlasting Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    1 carrot
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Chop cabbage and carrot.
    Soak both in ice water to which the salt was added.
    Boil sugar, vinegar and water for 1 minute.
    Drain cabbage.
    Add the syrup.
    Place in refrigerator.
    Keeps for days.
