Submarine Buns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. yeast
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. hot water
    1 c. cold water
    7 1/2 c. flour (approximate)
    1 c. warm water
    3/4 c. melted shortening, oil or butter
    2 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix yeast, 1 cup of warm water and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Mix well; let rise until doubled.
    Knead; cut out with Spam can 1/2-inch thick.
    Stretch; let rise again. Brush with melted butter and bake.
    Cool upside down.
