Coffee-Toffee Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar, creaming well
1 tsp. almond extract
1 to 2 Tbsp. instant coffee
1 c. (6 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/2 c. blanched almonds, chopped
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream together butter or margarine and brown sugar, creaming well.
Blend in almond extract and instant coffee.
Add the dry ingredients gradually; blend thoroughly.
Stir in chocolate morsels and chopped almonds.
Press into a well-greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
If desired, frost while still warm.
