Caramel Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk baking mix (Bisquick baking mix)
    2/3 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    2 c. sliced, peeled cooking apples (about 2 medium)
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 c. boiling water
    sweetened whipped cream or ice cream
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix baking mix and granulated sugar.
    Beat in milk until smooth.
    Pour into ungreased 9 x 9 x 2-inch square pan. Top with apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
    Mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples.
    Pour boiling water over apples. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm with sweetened whipped cream. Makes 6 servings.
