Red Beans And Rice - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. chopped onions
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 1/3 c. packaged precooked rice (Minute)
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. liquid (bean liquid and tomato juice)
2 c. (2 cans) drained beans (red kidney)
1/2 c. shredded sharp cheese
Preparation

Saute onions with margarine in saucepan over medium heat until tender, but not brown.
Stir occasionally.
Add precooked rice, salt, pepper and liquid.
Bring to a boil, uncovered.
Cover and simmer gently 3 minutes.
Add beans.
Serve with shredded cheese on top.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
