Asparagus Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter
    4 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 c. hot milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    dash of cayenne (optional)
    dash of dry mustard (optional)
    1 c. grated sharp cheese
    2 1/2 c. cooked or canned asparagus
    1/2 c. asparagus liquid
    1 (2 oz.) jar diced pimento
    1/2 c. sliced blanched almonds
Preparation
    In a saucepan, blend butter and flour; gradually add milk and seasonings.
    Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and stir in cheese.
    Place asparagus and stock in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch casserole dish. Cover with cream sauce. Sprinkle with pimento and almonds.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
