Grandmother'S Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
4 Tbsp. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. flavoring
4 to 5 c. flour

Preparation

Mix all ingredients together.
Roll out very thin and cut with cookie cutters.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 400\u00b0 for about 9 minutes.
Run spatula under cookies immediately after removing pan to prevent sticking.
These are inexpensive and the children love them.
