Old Fashioned Butter Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    4 eggs
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    sifted powdered sugar
Preparation
    Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Beat in vanilla; add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition. Combine flour with baking soda and salt; add to batter alternately with buttermilk; beginning and ending with flour.
    Butter and flour an 8-cup fluted mold.
    Pour in batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 1/2 hours or until a tester inserted in center comes out clean. Allow cake to stand 5 minutes inverted; remove cake from pan and finish cooling on a cake rack.
    Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
